“Leash control” means — the dog is attached to a leash, no
longer than 2 metres and is held by a person physically capable of restraining
the dog.
“Road” means —The land between property boundaries including
the footpaths, roadway and grass verges.
Your dog needs to be leashed if it is causing, or likely to cause a
nuisance or if adjacent to a public road, otherwise you can walk your
dogs anywhere in Tauranga City as long as they are under control.
No specific dog exercise areas are provided. Dogs are able
to be exercised off leash in public places except in circumstances identified
in the bylaw as follows;
