Five ways to banish a Bad hair day

Frizz ball, grease ball, stress ball?

We all have bad hair days and it can really affect your mood, not to mention your confidence. Here are five super-easy ways to banish a bad hair day, that really work...

Velcro Rollers

Second day hair looking a little flat? Roll large sections of dry hair around medium sized velcro rollers, add a good dose of hair spray and apply heat. Take the rollers out, brush lightly, and add a smoothing serum and voila! – bouncy, voluminous, glossy hair.

Tease, tease, tease

Teasing the roots of your hair can make a world of difference to greasy and/or flat hair on a bad hair day. Use a fine toothed comb to teach the roots of your hair around your part and on the crown of your head. Apply hair spray and then brush over with a flat brush to smooth the hair. During the day, if hair becomes flat again, use your fingers to massage the roots of your hair briskly to give it some more life and body.

Powder me up

This one is only for those of you with lighter locks unfortunately .Got greasy hair, but no time to wash? Dust the part and/or hairline with a small amount of talcum powder, or face powder. This will soak up some of the oil in your hair and lighten it where being greasy has made it look darker.

Cover up

Fashion is kind to bad hair days at the moment, as head scarves, hats and head bands are hot. Tie your hair back with a beautiful silk scarf to cover greasy roots or frizzy hair, or scrape you hair back with a headband when it just won’t do what you want it to. For the best of both words, look out for head bands covered in silk scarves with long trailing ends for you to tie as you please – they make life SO much easier.

From berets and trilbys to 1920s style bucket hats and cute train driver caps, hats are hips this season and the perfect solution to bad hair days – keep one in the car for emergencies!

Straighteners

Repeat after me “I solemnly swear I will invest in a pair of good hair straighteners”. A fantastic pair of hair straighteners is the best defense against a bad hair day, as you can never go wrong with sleek, glossy hair. You will need a good quality pair, however, to get the desired effect - the premium products on the market really do tame even the most unruly hair. If you are going to splurge, go for the crème de la crème – the almighty GHDs, or for a more affordable option, MOPs (My Own Pink Hair Straighteners) work a treat too!
