This website is all about us - a portal that we can call our own, with local content contributed to by you, your friends, your family, your neighbours, businesses you know (and some you're about to know), organisations you support (and some you can join now you know about them).
How The Website Works
We've structured the site into fourteen sections, each covering a broad subject area. Within each section, you can find business listings, news, events, articles, organisations, links and classifieds for businesses and activities directly related to the section subject area - these are called facilities.
Some sections will have more to say about different features - classifieds are greatest in the Shop section for example because most classifieds are about people buying and selling their second-hand goods. Visit, the tourism-related section, has less classifieds as there are fewer subcategories that apply to this section. If you can't find what you're looking for in a given section, try the same facility in another section.
In any section, if there is no activity in a certain facility or category it will not show in the navigation. A facility or category that doesn't appear in the navigation doesn't mean it doesn't exist - it just means that it has no content as yet. You can still contribute to it and help us build the website up to make it better for all.
Likewise, if, when you contribute or place an article, organisation or classified, if you feel there's a category that should be there, and isn't, you can suggest a category that you feel should be there. We'll evaluate it and move your listing into that category if we agree that the category should be there.
