Some simple tips to adapt to winter walking
• Buddy up with someone from your group and arrange to phone and encourage
each other to walk if the weather is uncertain. You know there’ll be at least 2
of you there!!
• Wear layers (including water proofs if it looks like rain) so
you’re prepared for all weather.
• Choose your route according to the weather. Consider the least
windy route and options to duck for cover if it looks like rain.
• Watch out for traffic. Driver visibility can be poor through wet
or foggy wind screens.
• Take extra care if conditions are slippery.
