Omanu Coastal Walk
Stroll along the beach front and enjoy the beautiful
coastal views Tauranga has to offer.
From Surf
Road to Girven
Road:
Walking Time - 30 minutes
The beaches along the Tauranga coastline are some of
Tauranga’s most popularwalking spots.
Designated walking areas have been created giving
walkers extensive and
breathtaking views of the coastline while leaving
areas of this reserve untouched.
The aim is to protect the environment and preserve
the native vegetation and
wildlife. There are many possible startpoints, however this
particular walk begins at the
Omanu Surf Club off Surf Road.
Follow the beach all the way
down to the Girven
Road beach access. From here you can choose to turn
around and head back
along the beach, or head down Girven Road. You will pass by Grenada Park,
Granada Skate Park, Baywave TECT Aquatic & Leisure Centre and Bayfair Shopping
Centre.
Alternatively you can walk back along Oceanbeach Road to Surf Road.
No dogs are permitted in the Oceanbeach Road Reserve
area from Labour Weekend
to Easter.
Please do not walk your dogs within 200
metres of the Omanu Surf Club.
