Transfer Stations


Transfer Station hours and information.

What is a Transfer Station?

  • a place to take your rubbish and recycling
  • more commonly known as a "Tip" or "Rubbish Dump"
  • activity provided – rubbish disposal, recycling, greenwaste disposal


What hours are the transfer stations open?

  • Hours of operation are the same at both Transfer Stations
  • 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday
  • 9.00am to 5.00pm Weekends and Public Holidays (this includes Anzac Day)
  • Closed on Christmas Day, New Years Day and Good Friday


Paying at the Transfer Station

  • Cash, cheque and EFTPOS
  • EFTPOS is available at both Transfer Stations. No Credit Cards are accepted.


Where are the Transfer Stations?

  • Maleme Street Transfer Station
    located on Maleme Street, Greerton
    (Maleme Street runs between Cameron Road and Oropi Road)
    (the Transfer Station is near the Oropi Road end).
  • Te Maunga Transfer Station
    located on Tip Lane, off Truman Road, Te Maunga
    (the side road the Speedway is on)


General information

  • Items such as computer printers, TV's and Microwaves, can go in with normal rubbish
  • GREENWASTE - Stop at the Recycling Centre to be assessed for a greenwaste approved card, this is to be used at the gatehouse.

Criteria for Greenwaste Acceptance:

  • Complete loads only
  • no combined loads of greenwaste and rubbish accepted
  • No flax, bamboo, pampas or flowering gorse
  • Maximum diameter 100 mm (4 inches)
  • Maximum lengths 3 m (10 feet)
