Transfer Stations Transfer Station hours and information.
What is a Transfer Station?
- a place to take your rubbish and recycling
- more commonly known as a "Tip" or "Rubbish Dump"
- activity provided – rubbish disposal, recycling, greenwaste disposal
What hours are the transfer stations open?
- Hours of operation are the same at both Transfer Stations
- 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday
- 9.00am to 5.00pm Weekends and Public Holidays (this includes Anzac Day)
- Closed on Christmas Day, New Years Day and Good Friday
Paying at the Transfer Station
- Cash, cheque and EFTPOS
- EFTPOS is available at both Transfer Stations. No Credit Cards are accepted.
Where are the Transfer Stations?
- Maleme Street Transfer Station
located on Maleme Street, Greerton
(Maleme Street runs between Cameron Road and Oropi Road)
(the Transfer Station is near the Oropi Road end). - Te Maunga Transfer Station
located on Tip Lane, off Truman Road, Te Maunga
(the side road the Speedway is on)
- Items such as computer printers, TV's and Microwaves, can go in with normal rubbish
- GREENWASTE - Stop at the Recycling Centre to be assessed for a greenwaste approved card, this is to be used at the gatehouse.
Criteria for Greenwaste Acceptance:
- Complete loads only
- no combined loads of greenwaste and rubbish accepted
- No flax, bamboo, pampas or flowering gorse
- Maximum diameter 100 mm (4 inches)
- Maximum lengths 3 m (10 feet)
