There are 2 main ways to recycle in Tauranga. At either the Te Maunga or Greerton Transfer Station or Kerbside Recycle collection.

• Both Transfer Stations will accept paper, cardboard, aluminium and tin cans, glass bottles, glass jars and plastics (types 1 & 2 only). Recyclables can be taken free of charge to either council transfer station.

There are 2 types of kerbside collection available.

• Free kerbside collection of paper and cardboard on the same day as your rubbish collection, or
• Paid kerbside collection. You hire a recycle bin on an annual basis and can include glass, recycleable plastics, cleaned tins and cans etc. This is also collected the same day as your rubbish collection. Currently in Tauranga the only kerbside recycling companies are Environmental Green Bins or Allbrite. You can hire the recycle bin only from EGB. Call them directly on 543 1098 for current charges.
