A lifetime of commitment to New Zealand horticulture has been recognised with the presentation of the industry’s most prestigious prize, the Bledisloe Cup, to Bay of Plenty grower Hugh Moore
Hugh is the immediate past chairman of the New Zealand Avocado Growers Association, a role he held for six years. Hugh developed an interest in industry politics in the late 1970s and has held numerous industry positions within the kiwifruit, pipfruit and avocado sectors.
“The time and effort Hugh has put in to our industry needs to be acknowledged and rewarded,” HortNZ President Andrew Fenton says.
“We are delighted to be able to recognise his contribution to the industry in this way.”
THE BLEDISLOE CUP is the New Zealand horticulture industry’s premier award.
