Registered Master Builders Charity Auction House
Charity Build driver and Master Builder Shannon Moyle from
Form Building & Developments, says the exercise happens only once every
three years and requires a lot of planning and input. This year’s chosen
charities are the Make a Wish Foundation, who grants wishes to children with
life threatening illnesses and Tauranga’s Kiwi Can Charitable Trust, a
primary/intermediate school focused programme helping young New Zealander’s to
achieve great things.
The House
The house will be built at Baypark Stadium and open to the general public on
Saturday 20 September from 1 pm to 4 pm daily for the week prior to the @HOME
Furniture Bathroom Kitchen Expo on 26-28 September.
The house has been designed by Penn Design, is 122 sq.metres, 3 bedroom , ensuite,
clad in James Hardie Linea weatherboard, Colour Steel Roof and features a
Mastercraft designed kitchen and will be colour coordinated by colour and
design specialist Gael Garrett.
The Charity Auction
The building programme is to commence on 28 August and be completed on 14
September with pre-show sponsor and invited public openings on 19 September.
The auction led by Blair Cashmore from Eves Realty, will be held on Sunday 28
September at 2.00 pm at the @HOME Furniture Bathroom Kitchen Expo’s main
entrance at Baypark Stadium.
@HOME Expo organiser Graeme Martin tells us he’s delighted
to be able to co-host the charity event alongside the @Home Furniture Bathroom
Kitchen Expo and hopes a great turnout may lead to a good price on the day.
“Each day will see between 1,500-2,000 visitors take the opportunity to visit
and enjoy the show, so if we can assemble even 10% of Sunday’s crowd at 2.00 pm
then hopefully, good things will happen.”
For those who are at the auction there’ll be spot prizes of complimentary passes to the @HOME Furniture Bathroom Kitchen Expo to be won as
well as other items from selected exhibitors to be announced as time nears.
Tauranga Registered Master Builders Association Manager, Lani Christensen, says
“Choosing a Charity was a difficult decision but our members are proud to be
supporting children in the Bay
of Plenty and as a
consequence sponsorship for the construction of the Charity house from Tauranga
businesses has been overwhelming”.
