Building firm hits top form at awards
Building firm Form NZ has taken out the top prize at the Westpac Tauranga Business Awards 2008.
Form NZ, which has only been running for a year following the merger
of Moyle Construction and Eaton Developments, won the Westpac Business
of the Year award at Friday night’s (31 Oct 08) ceremony at Baypark.
Form NZ also won the manufacturing/distribution award, and was a
finalist in the community service, workplace safety, and brand
marketing and design categories.
Speaking to the Bay of Plenty Times shortly after Form NZ was named
as the supreme award winner, the company’s sales and marketing manager
Andy Dew said he was thrilled at the success. “It just feels like the
hard work has paid off.”
Form NZ’s chief executive officer, Shannon Moyle said the company’s
staff were passionate about building, which he thought contributed to
their success.
Form NZ had already won several building awards, so to receive
recognition from the business sector was special. Form NZ beat out
Waihi Beach Top 10, which won best holiday park in the visitor
accommodation category of the 2007 New Zealand Tourism Industry Awards,
and Oasis Engineering, which in July won the Sharp Tudhope Exporter of
the Year award at the Bank of New Zealand Bay of Plenty Export Awards
2008.
The leadership award was won by ABN AMRO Craig’s founder Neil Craig,
and the emerging business prize went to Modern Office Ltd. In his
acceptance speech, Mr Craig said winning his award was “a huge
surprise.” This sounds like a bit of a jack up to me – I came here to
make up the numbers.”
