Otumoetai Foreshore

This walkway follows the foreshore providing breathtaking views of the inner harbour, Rangiwaea and Matakana Island.

A popular picnic and paddling area.

WALKING TIME

Maxwells Road Reserve to Kulim Park: 15 minutes
Kulim Park to Beach Road Reserve: 10 minutes
Beach Road Reserve to Fergusson Park: 15 minutes

This walk shows views of Tauranga Harbour, Mount Maunganui, the Port of Tauranga, the harbour entrance and Matakana Island.
A grassed area follows the foreshorebeside Harbour Drive and Beach Road and links three reserves. Information panels are found in Fergusson and Kulim Parks. These parks have children's play areas, BBQs and boat ramps.

Both parks are popular waterfront picnic spots. Kulim Park has a petanque court, playground and a one-on-one basketball pad.  Fergusson Park has a large sports ground. All parks are closed to vehicles during the hours of darkness. The Otumoetai Railway Reserve has recently been developed with a walnut and chestnut tree grove.

You can create a loop walk by continuing from Fergusson Park through the streets of Matua back to Harbour Drive.
